THERAPEUTIC ARTS COUNSELLING
A therapeutic art session provides a safe space for a person to express and explore any issues or challenging life events in a creative, non-verbal way, while supported by the Art Counsellor.
Art-making is not necessarily about the finished artwork itself, but rather focusing on what unfolds during the artistic process. During a session, the potential may arise for an individual to unlock and shift an aspect of their unique story. The person may choose to further work with this both creatively and verbally, if they so choose.
One may experience the positive healing effects on many levels -
Physical | Mental | Emotional | Spiritual
No previous art experience is necessary to experience the benefits of Therapeutic Arts Counselling. A variety of media and techniques are used during sessions.
TYPES OF SESSIONS
